Wagyu Sliders with Gouda & Dijon

Ingredients

Serves 4-6 (Makes 12 sliders)

  • 2 pounds HeartBrand Certified Akaushi Beef® Ground Beef
  • 12 slider buns (brioche or sweet Hawaiian rolls)
  • 6 slices Gouda cheese, halved
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: Caramelized onions or arugula for extra depth

Preparation

  1. Form the Patties: In a large bowl, gently season the HeartBrand Wagyu ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into 12 small, even patties (slightly larger than the buns, as they will shrink slightly during cooking).
  2. Sear the Beef: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Sear the patties for 2–3 minutes per side until a nice crust forms. HeartBrand Wagyu is best enjoyed at medium-rare to medium doneness to preserve its signature juiciness.
  3. Melt the Cheese: During the last minute of cooking, place a half-slice of Gouda on each patty. Cover the pan briefly with a lid to help the cheese melt into a creamy layer.
  4. Toast the Buns: While the meat rests, lightly brush the insides of the slider buns with melted butter and toast them in a separate pan or under the broiler until golden brown.
  5. Assemble: Spread a generous layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom bun. Place the cheesy Wagyu patty on top. Add caramelized onions or a few leaves of arugula if desired.

Serve: Secure each slider with a toothpick and serve warm. These are perfect for game days, holiday appetizers, or a sophisticated family dinner.
